EMIL FRÁTRIK
ABOUT
...born in 1968 in Czechoslovakia and raised in musician family. He took his first piano lessons at age of six, but his passion for rhythm and groove was stronger, so he started studying drums at fourteen years of age at the Conservatory of Music in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Emil started to perform professionally at age of 17, when he joined one of the most popular new wave bands in Slovakia - BANKET. Since then, he has been working as a "first call" session and touring drummer with great number of local and international artists. He also worked for major labels such as Sony/ BMG, Universal, EMI, Mute, and more. Up till now, with his unique and tight sound, he has already participated on more than eighty records, four musicals and six original soundtracks. Moreover, he appeared in various TV show house bands (e.g., Czech Pop Idol 2004 - 2006) and played thousands of gigs and international festivals like Jazz „Michel Legrand" Le Havre FR, Aarhus International Jazz Festival DK, Jazz in Duke Town NL, Agharta Jazz Festival CZ, Zaduszki Jazzowe PL, Braunschweiger Jazzfestival DE, SXSW in Austin TX, and more..
At the present time, he works mainly as a studio player.

SNARE DRUMS
Emil is well known for playing quite a few instruments, including these three beautiful custom hand-made pieces. These are 13” x 5” 26mm thick beech shell snare made by Hittrich Drums, 13" x 7 maple "F-Series Red dot Signature snare and "14” x 6,75“ maple snare with mahogany reinforcement hoops, both made by M-Drums-Miro Moskal.
